S.M.K. Chung Hua , Miri is stands for Chung Hua Middle School, Miri.
S.M.K. Chung Hua , Miri 代表美里中华中学。

SMK Chung Hua Miri came into being in 1952 with 94 students and 5 teachers. The school consisted of 2 double-storey semi-permanent buildings and a bicycle shed. All this was the effort of the enthusiastic Chinese community in Miri.
美里中华中学于1952年成立，有94名学生和5名教师。学校由2栋双层永久性建筑和一个自行车棚组成。这一切都是热情的华人社区在美里的努力。

During the first few years, there are only about a hundred students comming from various places like Miri, Marudi, Bintulu……
在最初的几年里，只有大约一百名来自美里，马鲁迪，民都鲁等地的学生……

During these times, student walk or ride a bicycle to school.

In 1962, the medium of instruction switched from Mandarin to English and in 1991 to Bahasa Malaysia . Nevertheless, the school retains its trilingual characteristic and most, if not all the students of various ethnic origins are conversant with Bahasa Malaysia , English and Mandarin.

Gradually, the school developed with the addition of more buildings including classrooms, student and teacher quarters basketball court and a woodwork room in the 1970’s.

Today, SMK Chung Hua assumes a totally different outlook. It has transformed into a modern , magnificent institution of learning and this is made possible by the ingenious effort of school presidents Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Dr, Ting Pek Khiing and his wife wife Dato’Paduka Chai Yu Lan. They have, coupled with the co-operation of the principal Dr. Fong Onn Min, Board Chairman Dato’ Lee Teck Fook, the ex-students teachers, parents and students miraculously done wonders on the school.

One after another, the old, dilapidated buildings were torn down and give way to new four-storey modern concrete buildings. Starting with block E in 1998, then Block F and Block G in 2000, Block B in 2002, finally the administrative block, Block A, and the renovated school hall named after the Board Chairman, Dato’ Lee Teck Fook in 2003.
一个又一个旧的破旧建筑被拆除，让位于新的四层现代混凝土建筑。从1998年的E区开始，然后是2000年的F区和G区，2002年的B区，最后是A区的行政区，以及2003年由董事会主席督李德福命名的翻新学校大堂。

Dato’ Lee Teck Fook also rebuilt the two basketball courts, the school road and others so as to provide an even more conducive learning environment for the students. With the inspiration drawn from prominent figures and great leaders like our Prime Minister Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Seri Dr. Mahathir, The Chief Minister Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr. Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, Yang Berhormat Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. George Chan and of course Yang Berbangga Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Dr. Ting Pek Khiing and Dato’ Paduka Chai Yu Lan, our principal and Vice-principal formulated the school’s vision 2003, that is of transforming the school into the best school in Malaysia.

The school has successfully accomplished the mission of achieving excellence in all facets of education to realise the school’s objectives of producing all-round individuals who are highly motivated to learn and to achieve and who love the nation and the country.
学校成功地完成了在教育各个方面取得卓越成就的使命，以实现学校的目标，即培养具有高度学习和实现以及热爱国家和国家的全面发展的人。

Today’s SMK Chung HUa Miri excerts in all areas of education, towering above all other schools in academic results, sports, especially athletics and swimming, other co-curricular activities like English debates, Science Innovation competitions, character building and leadership training, culminating in the school winning numerous awards and accolades from all quarters.
今天的美里中华中学在所有教育领域都表现优异，高于其他学校的学术成绩，体育，特别是田径和游泳，其他课外活动，如英语辩论，科学创新竞赛，品格建设和领导力培训，最终在学校赢得了各方的无数奖项和荣誉。

The School has proven itself to be the best or one of the best in the country, but not the best it can be. Our belief as dissipated in the school slogan “Excellence our tradition, Perfection Our Goal” indicates clearly that SMK Chung Hua must continue “to Get Ahead and Stay Ahead” because the brightest days are yet to come.
